General and special education teachers can implement the use of manipulative's into their teaching strategies especially in math. Hands on techniques helps students understand the concept better because they are actively involved in the lesson.
Definitely make sure you are using topics they are interested in when you put together lessons so they can pay attention better and remember it longer.

I think allowing the students to work with their peers in general education class would help the special needs students.
